On July 12, Consul General Mr. Kong Xianhua visited the Deccan Herald in Bangalore, Karnataka, and had a discussion with the CEO and editorial team of the newspaper. Founded in 1948, Deccan Herald is a well-known English newspaper in India, with a daily circulation of about 10.69 million and a daily webpage viewership of about 90 million.

Consul General Mr. Kong Xianhua introduced the Consulate’s cooperation with newspapers and media in the consulate district, and expressed his willingness to share China's experience in poverty reduction and development, rural governance and scientific and technological innovation, and would like to promote exchanges and cooperation between Karnataka and China’s provinces in various fields. S. Shankar, CEO of Deccan Herald, introduced the major developments of the newspaper. The two sides exchanged views on the economic and trade exchanges, China's economic and social development, and views on further cooperation.
