The spirit of Kotnis is the banner and symbol of Sino-Indian friendship, which the people of China and India will never forget. Mr. Tang appreciated Dr. Kotnis Memorial Committee and Solapur city for strong support to China-India friendly exchanges and cooperation. Over the years, we have witnessed the great achievements of the Chinese people under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party. We are all honored and proud of Dr. Kotnis and the cause of Sino-Indian friendship that he has devoted himself to.

Tang pointed out that Dr. Kotnis understood China in a comprehensive manner and made immortal contributions to the cause of Sino-Indian friendship. To understand China, one must first understand the Communist Party of China. The secret of the success of the CPC is to put the people at the center. As President Xi Jinping has repeatedly emphasized, the country is the people and the people are the country. The Communist Party of China led the people to stand up, get rich to become strong. At the same time, as a leader of a grand party and a large country with a global perspective, President Xi proposed the concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind, which is of great significance for promoting the common pursuit of peace, development and justice.

Tang said that both China and India are facing multiple challenges of COVID-19 epidemic, development, and national rejuvenation. Foreign aid or scapegoating can not solve problems. Large developing countries like China and India can only achieve their goals through hard work, independence, and mutual cooperation. For thousands of years, China-India friendship has always been the mainstream, and the two peoples have always share the same heart. Maintaining and promoting China-India cooperation is the right choice and the best inheritance of the spirit of Dr. Kotnis. As China has effectively controlled the epidemic, more and more young Indians are looking forward to studying in China, especially studying medicine and inheriting Dr. Kotnis' legacy. Let us work together to promote exchanges, understanding and cooperation in various fields between China and India, so as to live up to the great people and time-honored civilizations of the two countries.

Indian speakers sincerely congratulated the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, hailing the great achievements China has made. They emphasized that India should learn more from China instead of the West, committing to exchanges and cooperation between China and India in various fields. Prior to the event, Consul General Tang specially talked with Dr. Kotnis’ cousin Sri. Kant Kotnis and niece Mme. Sumangala Borkar. The family members recalled the heroic deeds of Dr. Kotnis, saying they would inherit Dr. Kotnis’ legacy and firmly support the cause of Chins-India friendship in the new era.
